The app will not open
Confirm it came from the Mac App Store or verified developer, update macOS, and check Apple’s security prompt. Do not download a modified copy to avoid a compatibility warning.
The playlist is empty
Check whether the player supports the supplied format. Copy the complete URL again, remove accidental spaces, and allow the first refresh to finish. A portal login will not work in an M3U-only player.
Video is black but audio works
Update the player, test hardware decoding, and try another stream. If using an external display, disconnect it temporarily to identify whether the adapter or display path is involved.
Playback stops when the lid closes
Closing the lid can put the Mac to sleep unless it is configured for an external-display setup with power and input devices connected. Keep the MacBook open during the first test.

Close players on other devices and wait for old sessions to end. Installing the app on multiple devices is different from playing multiple streams simultaneously.
